If you’ve lived in El Paso for a few years, you know how essential the Franklin Mountains are to the region. They tower over the sprawling urban landscape and yet give residents an important reminder of the magnificence and majesty of nature and her far-reaching presence in our lives. The westside of El Paso has a very unique view and access of these incredible geological wonders. One of these attractive new neighborhoods is the Cimarron Sage area, where many of our new homes are privy to the beauty of the Southwestern landscape.
The Southwestern Landscape
Sometimes referred to as the southernmost end of the Rocky Mountain chain, the Franklin’s extend from the Mexican border northward to El Paso, Texas and parts of New Mexico. The mountains are home to 37-square mile Franklin Mountain State Park and one of the largest urban park in the nation. Enjoy desert wildlife like jackrabbits, desert cottontail rabbits, possums, skunks, badgers and racoons. Also, don’t miss the coyotes, gray foxes, mule deer, and more. Recent development has paved bike paths and trails in the surrounding areas as well, which makes it a very active and vibrant community. Take your pick from biking, hiking, running, or enjoying a day at the community parks or walking trails with easy access to Loop 375 and Interstate 10.
Recent Development in the Area
The westside of town has also seen some burgenong development of restaurants, entertainment centers, and shopping centers easily accessible to residents of the area. Areas like the West Towne Marketplace, an open-air retail and entertainment destination with beautiful landscaping, trees, and plenty of parking space; it’s located on the corner of I-10 West and Paseo Del Norte. The shopping center extends 500,00 square feet of retail, restaurants, and entertainment—well known destinations like TJ Maxx, Cabelas, PetsMart, and Walmart. This adds a whole layer of convenience to the area.
