Expand Your Horizons: Why Horizon City is a Great Place to Buy a Home

There is a lot of growth and development happening around the El Paso metropolitan area. The city and its surrounding communities add up to more than 800,000 people and a lot of traffic of folks going back and forth across the border. This means a lot of hustle and bustle within the city limits and why a lot of people are looking outward at communities like Horizon City, Texas. If you are shopping around for a place to build your home, Horizon City might be the perfect place for you. Last month, we took a brief look at some of the communities where we build to give you an overview. Let’s take a closer look at why this particular area might be where you build your dream home.
Let’s Start With The Facts
According to U.S Census information, in 2017, the city had a population of approximately 19,000 people. Horizon is within El Paso County and is located Southeast from the city of El Paso.  The city takes its name from the Horizon Corporation, a real estate development corporation which first developed it as a community in the 1960s. The estimated median household income is about 52,000, which is slightly higher than the city of El Paso.

Looking for the Small Town Feel

Many Americans today require the amenities and job opportunities of a bigger city but enjoy the remoteness of a smaller municipality like Horizon. This city offers the small town feel to many people that reside here. There are plenty of places to eat and groceries, but it is not overpopulated or heavily trafficked. This small town also has a lot of open space and feels a lot less crowded than some of the suburbs within the city limits. You may very well find lots that are much bigger and with more wide open space for a backyard, pool, etc.

Schools & Community

Horizon, City is home to several high-quality schools and a vibrant community.  These include Horizon Heights Elementary School and Desert Hills Elementary. Some of its middle schools include Horizon Middle, Ricardo Estrada Junior High, and Colonel John E. Ensor Middle. The head high school includes Horizon High home of the Scorpions.

Palo Verde In Horizon City

One of the communities where we build includes Horizon, City along within communities outside the El Paso area. Palo Verde has been named the builder of the year for three years in a row and part of that is that we know how to choose great communities and, of course, build high-quality beautiful luxury homes unlike any others in the area.
